UNLV EQUESTRIAN CLUB NEWS

We have offically started the UNLV Equestrian Club this is open to students and alumni of all Nevada Colleges: UNLV, College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College and Pima. Our goal is to develop an Intercollegiate Equestrian team for College of Southern Nevada Students and UNLV Students in disciplines of dressage, eventing, hunter, jumper and equitation. You do not have to own a horse to participate in the club or on the intercollegiate team, intercollegiate is open to riders with disabilities and without. Talisman Farm provides an array of lesson horses for all levels of riders as well as student discount on lessons. Kathy Kemisak and Harmonious 2nd & 3rd place finishes, Halle Ferguson & Boomer 4th and 5th place ribbons
 
UTAH SUMMER GAMES-JUNE

Halle Ferguson & Boomer Gold medals in training level test 1 & 2, Anastasia Caberera & Practical Magic 2 Silver medals in USDF intro test a and b, Gold medal in Hunter Equitation ( out of 10 riders) and silver medal in hunter pleasure ( out of 12 horses). Congrats to my riders!
 
FALL CLINIC SCHEDULE

Next Maria Naslund clinic will be in October dates to be announced. I am also trying to schedule a show jumping clinic with Olympian Greg Best for 2011, I need to know who would be interested in participating in this clinic so i can get some dates together.

USEF EQUESTRIAN ATHLETE PROGRAM

We are currently working on getting this program up and running. So we will keep everyone posted. From USEF " The new High School Equestrian Athlete program is open to equestrian athletes in all breeds or disciplines who are enrolled in grades 9-12, and are currently USEF members, or become USEF members. The program will run June 1–May 31 of each year, and will honor those who document their training and competition involvement by awarding emblems and pins." HORSES 4 HEROES

Talisman Farm is pleased to be supporters of the HORSES FOR HEROS INC A NON PROFIT. Founded by Sidney Knotts, the Horses for Heros program is making horse back riding and boarding affordable and accessible for the heroes in our community, including the families and personnel of military, police officers, fire fighters, nurses and school teachers. FORESTIER SADDLES


-Esther will now be representing the European french saddle Forestier for the west coast. Test ride saddles will be available in dressage, show jumping- set up an appointment to test ride these saddles you'll love them. Forestier Demo saddles will be available for test rides at the September SNHJA show!
